Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Beach
An aircraft hovering near a well-attended coastal coastline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Videos shared on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl above the shoreline then plunging near the border of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm groves and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters said five individuals were taken to hospital including two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Information on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
