Egypt and Doha are actively pursuing attempts to convince Hamas to comply with Donald Trump's proposal to end the hostilities in Gaza, according to Egypt's foreign minister.

Mounting Pressure on the Group

Badr Abdelatty declared that the opportunity is now for the organization to lay down its weapons and not give Israeli forces any excuse to persist in its military campaign in the region, where 28 Palestinians were fatally struck on recently.

“We must avoid providing any justification for ongoing civilian casualties, which have escalated far beyond the events of October 7th,” the minister remarked.

He explained that Egypt is “coordinating with our brothers in Qatar and with our colleagues in Turkey in order to convince Hamas to respond positively to this plan”.

Details of the US Initiative

The plan would necessitate Hamas to:

• Surrender weapons and exit politics
• Return the hostages still held from the previous year's events, including two dozen are believed to be living

As part of the deal, Israel would:

• Phase out its forces from Gaza
• Substituted by an multinational troops
• Allow a temporary government under Trump

Most analysts agree that the initiative would lead to the dissolution of the group's role as an militant organization, while Israel would offer limited compromises.

Disagreements within Hamas

The group is divided over the appropriate answer, with some members seeking additional time to evaluate the proposal.

Izz al-Din al-Haddad has opposed the proposal, viewing it as a strategy to destroy Hamas regardless of they comply.

Sources close to the group report that Hamas is expected to request changes regarding:

• Disarmament terms
• Remaining troops of soldiers in Gaza
• Assurances that the top officials will not be pursued

Gaza Situation Intensifies

Israeli forces continued its military actions in Gaza City and shelling across the territory on Friday, killing numerous civilians.

Nearly a dozen of the casualties were in the northern city, while the others were killed in the south, including three in an unmanned aircraft attack in al-Masawi, which had been once declared a secure area.

The Israeli military issued its ultimate directive for the city on Wednesday, with the top defense official announcing that anyone remaining would be labeled as militants, a label that violates international law.

Hundreds of thousands of residents remain trapped in the urban area, with numerous who lack the means for the trip to the south, which allegedly requires more than $1,000.

“Countless individuals are forced to sleep outdoors while seeking refuge,” said Sarah Davies.

United Nations agencies reported that there is nowhere secure for people fleeing Gaza City, as areas declared as “safe zones” in southern Gaza are lethal.

A UNICEF spokesperson labeled the concept of protected spaces as “absurd”, stating that airstrikes are launched with alarming regularity and shelters designated as safe havens are often destroyed.

Healthcare System under Severe Strain

Medical facilities in southern Gaza are stretched to the limit, with the aid clinic accommodating significantly beyond its designed patient load.

Earlier, al-Nasser hospital received the remains of 27 individuals of people fatally wounded by the Israeli military.

A senior doctor characterized the conditions as “exceptionally challenging”.

Israel has been alleged to be attacking doctors and clinics, with medical staff said to be taken while on duty in a southern city.

Israel has asserted that apprehended doctors had connections to Hamas, though offering no substantiation.

Fatalities from Israel’s war in the strip has amounted to more than sixty-two thousand civilians fatally injured and nearly 170,000 injured, according to the local health officials.
