19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional title, took control to force a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
