Skydiving Trainer Killed After Falling Without Parachute in Nashville

Emergency Scene Rescue Effort
Local Fire Department reported it employed multiple equipment and a pulley system to rescue the client

Federal aviation authorities is looking into the fatality of a skydiving instructor after he got detached from his client during a jump in Nashville, Tennessee.

Authorities say trainer Justin Fuller "appears to have fallen from the sky without a parachute" during the dive on Saturday.

Fuller, 35 years old, seems to have detached from his client and a dual harness, which connects the two during a jump and contains the parachute.

A law enforcement aircraft found the instructor's remains in a forested zone some time after. Local emergency crews used several ladders to access the middle-aged client who lived through the descent after being stuck on a tree branch for hours with the emergency parachute.

Police stated several additional jumps, which took place near a local airport, were carried out without incident before the fatal fall. The plane from which they jumped also touched down without issue.

The cause remains unknown how Mr Fuller, an experienced skydiver, became separated from the safety equipment.

A individual who assisted rescue teams in the operation informed a local television station the client who officials saved said "it was his first jump, and it was going to be his final one".

Mr Fuller had previously posted about his enthusiasm for teaching others how to parachute.

"Teaching people to skydive has always been in my opinion the most satisfying role at the drop zone," Mr Fuller wrote in an Instagram post in June.

"Observing students figure it out and begin maneuvering their bodies is consistently a touching moment. Occasionally though, it can get a little hectic up there when you let someone go for their first time."

During that period he posted images of the damage a skydiving plane he was on noting the aircraft's motor had failed after take off. Every individual aboard lived through the incident.
